Comments: This Sterling silver coin features the Kaka, which is a native New Zealand Bush Parrot. They are perfectly adapted to living and feeding entirely in the forest. They are fast flyers and have a powerful beak and a very varied diet. They eat insects and their larvae as well as many kinds of nectar, seeds, and succulent forest fruit. The Kaka feeds in noisy flocks, mainly in the early morning and late evening. The coin was issued individually in a capsule in a plush case (2,334 copies) It was also included in the annual 7-coin Proof Year Set. (2,569 copies)
