His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej His Majesty the King’s 60th Birthday Anniversary on December 5, 1987 with merit and prestige. International financial position has become stable. The BOT deems it appropriate to issue bank cards in honor of His Majesty. In this auspicious time, the BOT has designed a 60-baht bank card with a completely new design. Announced on June 3, 1987 and exchanged on December 8, 1987 at the price of 60 baht per note and can be used as a circulating banknote
The front of the bank card depicts King Rama IX sitting on the Phuttankanchana Singhas Throne Hall. On the left side of the bank card is a picture of the royal seal. On the right is the logo of the Bank of Thailand. The bottom left and right is a Thai Chokanok flame pattern. There are four things that cannot be seen from the photograph of the bank card seen above:
the triangular watermark above the Arabic numerals. It can be seen when it is illuminated in a bright place.
The color of the royal seal changes from green to blue when the view is flipped. This exclusivity stems from the initiative to use a new, expensive type of ink ordered from Sigpa, Switzerland.
